At around 4 p.m. on April 23, a community resident named Xiao Lu (pseudonym) saw on a short video platform that his favorite idol group was collaborating with an organization to conduct a signing charity event, which aroused his great interest.
After Xiao Lu joined the QQ group for the event, he found that he could scan the QR code of the charity event in the group and receive the celebrity group’s peripheral products and autographed photos by donating 8.43 yuan.
In order to support his favorite idol, Xiao Lu used the scan code payment function to successfully pay the relevant fees, and sent a screenshot of the QQ number of the person who redeemed the money to the relevant person.
After the prize redemption staff responded promptly, Mr. Lu learned that he had violated relevant regulations due to his underage status, which led to the company's account being frozen by the bank. Mr. Lu was responsible for this. If the account was not unfrozen as soon as possible, the company would sue Mr. Lu.
When Xiao Lu heard that he might face jail, he was terrified. The other party told him that he could use his guardian's mobile phone to transfer money to the company account to unfreeze the funds. So Xiao Lu took the mobile phone away when his mother was not paying attention.
Xiao Lu transferred 4999 yuan to the account designated by the other party.Later, when Xiao Lu's mother discovered the incident, she took Xiao Lu to the Criminal Investigation Brigade of Xialu Public Security Bureau to report the case.
This is a typical star worship scam. Police officer Le Rui warned the mother and daughter that this scam takes advantage of the immature psychology of minors and their incomplete understanding of relevant legal knowledge. Xiao Lu said that he would strengthen his awareness of preventing scammers in the future and avoid blindly pursuing idols.
Currently, this case is under further investigation.
