A masked man robbed a shop in Luqa at knifepoint on Friday night and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
At around 10pm, a thief entered a store called Treq Wesgħet il-Vittmi tal-Gwerra and made illegal demands on two clerks in an attempt to extort money.
The two people - a 38-year-old man from Cospicua and a 16-year-old Fgura girl - were not injured in the incident.
When police arrived, the thief had fled the scene.A manhunt is currently underway.
Judge Montebello is presiding over the investigation into the case.
