Police and Civil Defense were called to the scene of a distressing car accident yesterday after a car allegedly drove straight into Msida Skatepark before overturning and landing upside down.
Footage of the vehicle shows the two-seater micro-vehicle hanging upside down next to a skate park ramp about 10:30 p.m., with witnesses describing the potentially fatal incident.
The 29-year-old driver from Hamrun suffered serious injuries and had to be hospitalized on Friday morning, police said.
Video footage from the scene showed that some young people happened to be in the park when the accident occurred.
The public security organs are investigating.
