From December 12, Emirates will increase the frequency of flights on the Malta-Larnaca-Dubai route to one daily flight.
This will help the airline's operations on the route return to pre-pandemic levels, marking a steady recovery as global travel restrictions ease.
Every day, Emirates flight EK110 departs from Malta, taking off at 2:35 pm, arriving at Larnaca International Airport in Cyprus at 7 pm, staying for a while, then flying to Dubai International Airport, landing at 12:45 am the next day.
The return flight departs from Dubai at 7:25 am, stops in Larnaca on the way, and lands at Malta International Airport at 1:05 pm.All times are local in each city.
Emirates has been operating in Malta for 24 years. They briefly stopped passenger services at the start of the pandemic but continued to transport air cargo, connecting Malta and other markets.
Paul Fleri Soler, Emirates Country Manager for Malta, said: “Emirates’ flight frequencies have returned to pre-pandemic levels, which is in line with our market growth strategy and part of our efforts to support the recovery of the tourism industry.
The route is served by the airline's largest passenger aircraft, the modern wide-body Boeing 777-300ER.
The aircraft has eight first-class suites, 8 business-class seats and 42 economy-class seats. The airline claims that on their in-flight entertainment system, passengers can enjoy more than 304 entertainment channels and sample regional cuisine.
Fleri Soler further pointed out: “As more and more borders are relaxed, we need to provide more connectivity for international travel to and from Malta so that passengers have more choice and flexibility. At the same time, we also need to strengthen onward connections to a number of leisure and business destinations such as Australia, New Zealand and the Maldives. These destinations include China, Japan, Thailand and Mauritius.”
