A group of Chinese used electric shock batons to beat and try to kidnap two compatriots on the streets of Phnom Penh

At about 8:19 a.m. on August 4, a deliberate kidnapping occurred opposite the Parliament Building in Phnom Penh’s Sam District.
According to some local media reports, two Chinese men were beaten with electric batons by a group of Chinese people, and someone tried to push them into a car. People nearby shouted and stopped them, but the kidnappers ran back to the car and escaped.
The two Chinese people expressed their gratitude to the bystanders for their rescue, but they decided not to report the incident to the police.
