Under the Korea Stock Exchange and Futures Exchange Act, the Korea Stock Exchange was formed by the fusion of three existing Korean spot and futures exchanges, namely the Korea Stock Exchange, the Korea Futures Exchange and KOSDAQ. They are now business divisions within the Korea Stock Exchange: the Stock Market Division, the KOSDAQ Market Division and the Derivatives Market Division. As of December 2007, 12, the Korea Stock Exchange had 31 listed companies with a total market capitalization of US$1,757 trillion.
