The police in Tho Xuan District, Kampot Province, Cambodia issued a notice yesterday stating that four rice wine poisoning incidents have occurred in the province recently. Relevant law enforcement officers are conducting investigations and conducting surprise inspections on shops and workshops selling rice wine.
From August 8 to 15, a total of four people died of poisoning due to drinking rice wine in Te Xuan County, Kampot Province.
According to the results of the police raid, stores that have been temporarily closed can re-apply for a license from the relevant department if no suspicious or non-compliance with safety standards is found.
In addition, the authorities also discovered 16 cases of poisoning due to excessive drinking, and all victims were promptly sent to hospitals for treatment.
